a friend from far, far away

I've been on a blogging break because Bo and I have been traveling out in the wild, wild west.  But before we left, we had the privilege of welcoming Jenny back to the USA!  My friend Jenny from both Taylor and Charlotte days moved to Kenya as I moved out (see here) and actually lived in the same little  house I did!  I was so excited to be her first stop in the States and hear all the news of Kijabe.  Bo and I were her welcoming committee at JFK and brought her a grand old flag to wave with pride.  (Also I had some pride that I'd made my first trip out to the airport, and got there right on time!)

She brought Bo this bib, among other things . . .

Which he tried to eat . . .

We took turns on baby duty so the other could get a little crafting in . . .

Jenny made me this:

We spent most of her three days here running errands, which is not really very fun.  Especially when it's hot.  And the baby has decided that he HATES his car seat.  Poor Jenny.

Poor Moosey.

I snapped this pic during one of the 'sit in the backseat and cajole the baby' sessions.

So finally on our last night here, I made sure we walked down to our waterfront to catch the sunset AND that we'd made a trip to my favorite ice cream spot.

And grabbed a shot of Jenny at the pier.  Long Island at it's best.
