Help?

To my loyal blog readers:

We are trying to make some important decisions that will impact our finances and overall happiness of the home. I would appreciate your advice on the following two points:

1) What color KitchenAid should we purchase?
Here's the available color wheel. I'm not super trendy, mind you. But I'm open to thoughts.

2) What vacuum should we purchase?
We have hardwood floors and rugs. It needs to go up and down steps with ease. We also have a pet doggy.

So, if you ever dreamed of commenting, comment now. I want to spend lots of money tomorrow.

1-no recommendations in particular on color, but I would say have fun and don't be afraid to be splashy. Someday it will probably look dated like the harvest gold and avocado green I remember from being a kid, but it will immediately bring back memories of the first time you used it. I would suggest a smooth finish. I have imperial black, which I love, but it has a rough finish and that make it tough to keep clean quickly. Enjoy--KitchenAid rocks!

any color eventually looks dated. I'd go with white or stainless.

and dyson's rock! easy clean-up.

Since you asked.....
Chrome or black or red for the Kitchen Aid and Dyson for vacuum cleaners(not sure the extra $ for the pet model is necessary). In addition, spend the extra $ and get something portable for the steps too . I am 100% sure Pioneer Woman would agree with me.

Well, I'm going to muck up the works and say DON'T BUY A KITCHEN AIDE! I have a machine that I think is way better than a Kitchen Aide but is not as well known. It's a Magic Mill mixer, made by Electrolux (which also makes very fine vacuums). Here's a link if you're interested: http://www.pleasanthillgrain.com/magic_mill_dlx_mixer.aspx

I can triple muffin and cookie recipes, mix dough for five or more loaves at a time, make cake batter, whip cream, you name it. It has lots of optional attachments but the main part of it is elegantly simple to use. The bowl is bigger than a KA and easier to access, easier to clean; the motor is stronger. I've had mine for over 15 years and never a problem. I LOVE this machine. I have it in white. It's more expensive to begin with, but for fine quality and ease of use, it's worth it.

Now if you're not going to be cooking and baking for a hoard, like me, a KA might be fine, but if you ever want to bake in quantity, you can't beat the Magic Mill.

Erica! Get a WHITE mixer. My girlfriend has a white kitchen aid and it looks really sharp against any other kitchen fixtures... PLUS its easy to keep looking clean. And get a DYSON ... i could NOT live without mine! Post some pics of your new place new hubby and new puppy soon k?

I use my Kitchen Aid all the time, and it's 10 years old and white. I've always been happy with it, but now I'm curious about the Magic Mill that Beth recommended! --Tracye

I would say white too because it can go with whatever kitchen decor. i think i've changed the colors of my kitchen 4-5 times and white always matches. :) but heather's red is SO MUCH FUN.
