hmm, where to?
barrels of bottles
glass blowing
bead making
happy birthday, mom!I bought a set of glasses as well, meaning I can FINALLY return most of my RVA kitchen rental! Someday when my family leaves and I'm bored and lonely, twiddling my thumbs, I take a picture so you can see how well my recycled-glass stemware matches my zed-made dishes. (happy erica.)
After our dusty adventuring, we met with old friends in Karen for dinner before heading back to Kijabs. . . and took this fantastic family picture.
So if you ever want to go to Kitengela, give me a call. I'd go again . . . and again!

I so want to go! Those beads look beautiful!
So, was that your fancy camera that bit the dust?
Hi Erica,
I've been following your blog for a while now. We are moving to Kijabe this year and your blog has been so helpful and wonderful to read in preparation for that big move. I appreciate all of your photos and details so I can start getting a mental picture of our new home. I'm not sure how long you are planning on being there but I hope you will still be there when we arrive - I'd love to go to Kitengela with you (I'm sure I'll need some glassware too!).
Your friendly blog stalker,
Megan
Erica,
Happy Happy New Year Erica!
Amy Jo gave me your blog address and I have been checking in on you regularly for a few weeks. I am enjoying reading about your adventures.
It looks and sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends. All your pics are great- the one with your Mom, your brother in his new hat and seeing Elyse so grown up and pretty! Your mountain climbing picture and Elyse's writing reminded me the hike AJ and I took in CO this fall -- I definately blamed the altitude as the reason for getting so winded and am sure it has nothing to do with the fact that I have not been exercising!
Kitengela looks like the perfect trip - it is so great to soak up the art and culture of new places. Of course, I especially loved the glass beads and all the wonderful jewelry that could be designed.
Many blessings to you and your family in 2009 -
Amy
love the glasses--seriously, you are the most fashionable missionary I know!
