49 weeks

49 weeks . . . not really sure why, but it was Pooh bear day.  We were headed out for a walk and it was a bit chilly so I just threw this little number on Bo Bear.  Don't even know where it came from, but it was in his closet, and it is clearly hilarious.

He laughed when he saw himself in the mirror.  So did I.

Bo's been practicing some walking this weekend and has taken a couple steps between Matt and me.  I caught him standing alone for a few seconds:

 and . . .
we're down!

Foraging for honey?

Last week was significant: Matt's parents came out for the weekend, which was so nice!  AND . . . it was my last week of work!  I've only been working four hours a day watching the kids I used to nanny for - and bringing Bo along - but somehow those four hours really took a big chunk out of the day.  As Bo got more mobile it was a little crazy (I am not meant to be a mom of five (boys) right now!).  So last weekend was a fun one celebrating their visit and my new joblessness.

Bo sharing his blankey with Moose:

And playing peek-a-boo with him.

Off to the airport to pick up Gigi and Pop!
Just kidding, obviously!  Matt buckled him in like that and I had a fit laughing when I got to the car.  It was unexpected and he looked hilarious.  As a side note, Bo was dressed to support UK last Friday for their game, but nobody at his library class really got it . . . and I was left explaining "Game tonight!" to blank looks.  Also Bo had basically outgrown the track suit and the pants kept inching up his legs and the jacket creeping up his wrists . . . he looked a little goofy but we had to represent!  Also Gigi and Pop had a new Kentucky Blue outfit for him in their suitcase.

We had a sweet little visit revolving around Bo, his tricks, and his nap schedule.

Squirmy guy would not pose for a picture but this one is pretty sweet!

Moose had no problem posing for pictures.  Sitting still in not a problem for him.

We took Bo's weekly pic while they were here and everybody lent a hand in keeping him on his back for a few seconds.  And yet, he still looks a little disheveled.

As Bo gets bigger, he is just so fun.  His little personality is becoming a BIG personality!  He knows what he wants and will work to get it.  Sometimes this means yelling until he gets what he needs, which is no fun, but his limited vocabulary can be frustrating for him.  He has a handful of words now that we practice in the car - Daddy, Mama, hi, puppy, baba, and recently 'thank you,' which comes out 'dee doo!'.  He is starting to use them more appropriately - BaBa is the easiest to say and the first thing he asks for when he wakes up!  He is using "hi" sometimes when we are out shopping and wants to charm strangers.  Right now he doesn't say Mama unless he's yelling from his bed.  Hmm.  Bo still loves putting things 'away' into baskets and cups, throwing things, and scrambling all over the house.  He crawls and cruises like a pro.  No real steps yet though!  I can wait for that.  He's busy enough as it is.

Although the posting is delayed, this picture was taken on St. Patrick's Day - thus the green background and shirt OVER the Murray State shirt.  Because the Racers had a game that day... so we were making everyone happy.

pictures from the week:

And a video in which I hate my voice but Bo's hand motions are worth it:

Bo's new 'toy' - an applesauce container that I washed out for him.

10 months

Loungin' . . . celebrating 10 months . . .
In reality he was flinging himself all over the chair so I don't even know how this pose happened.

Prior to Bo's little 10 month well visit, I started to suspect that this kid might actually have gained more than a handful of ounces.

I don't know what gave me that impression.

I mean, there had been previous visits where I was absolutely positive he felt so much heavier in his carrier . . .  and really he hadn't gained a thing.

And yet, I couldn't shake that feeling . . .

So yes, Bo had gained a couple pounds since his 8 month visit when our pediatrician pointed to his weight down in the second percentile.  He'd actually gained FIVE POUNDS, and is weighing almost 21 pounds these days!  He is square in the 50th percentile for height, weight, and head circumference.

So average. :)

Apparently he wasn't the only one packing on some winter pounds . . .

Besides beefing up, Bo has become increasingly mobile this past month, eating lots of finger foods, and working on his littler personality.  He's saying Mama, Dada or Da-ee, Baba, and lately - Hiiiiiee!  I will try to get that on video because it's hilarious.  Especially because he ALWAYS says 'hi' to blankey but the rest don't really need to be greeted.  He's clapping, waving, throwing, putting things away (like stashing his toys in our shoes), kicking, crawling, clacking, and cruising.

a before (November?) and after (January).
